The Hypocrisy of Obama

For two years, Barak Obama has continually criticized what he considers to be reckless spending decisions in tough economic times. The city of Las Vegas, in particular, has suffered as a result.

"When times are tough, you tighten your belts," he chastises. "You don't blow a bunch of cash in Vegas when you're trying to save for college."

A year ago he sharply criticized companies that receive federal money for holding corporate meetings in Las Vegas, causing many to cancel their meetings and adding to the city's economic and job crisis.

Yet when the time came for him to take a family vacation, as the country's CEO, elected to take a federally funded trip to Hawaii, said to have cost over $1 million just in the cost to fly Air Force One to the island. This does not even begin to cover the cost of sending over his helicopter, armored limousine, and personal entourage of secret service agents, staff, chefs, and personal assistants for both he and the first lady. Nor does it include the cost of the luxury accommodations.

Rather than "tightening his belt," as he lectures others to do, and vacationing near his new home at the White House, he elected to take a decadent, taxpayer funded island vacation at a cost that can easily have exceeded $3 million - or more.

I'm just sayin'...
