"Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is the favorite for the GOP 2012 nomination." That's what this CNN story says. Based on a new CNN/Opinion Research poll just released, the top candidate mentioned by Republicans on their wish-list for 2012 is Mike Huckabee.
Against Huckabee, if the race were today, Obama would lose 52-44 percent. Against Palin, however, Obama would win 52-44 percent.
"Looking ahead to 2012," CNN says, "it may be too early to count Barack Obama out, particularly if Sarah Palin is his opponent."
